Bolt Pharmacy

researchedfull dossier

A Blackburn-registered online pharmacy that presents as British and pharmacist-founded, and is in fact a US skin: the UK arm of a San Francisco Y Combinator company, running on the Fella Health growth platform, that bought its pharmacy licence in April 2025 on vendor finance.

Bolt Healthcare Ltd, no. 15149039, incorporated 19 September 2023

Model

Two entities, one group. Bolt Healthcare Ltd holds the GPhC pharmacy registration (9013085, superintendent Phuong Nguyen, GPhC 2204151). AIOS Technology Ltd holds the CQC registration for prescribing (1-25516432019, "Independent doctor service", registered 23 January 2026, not yet inspected). AIOS owns 75%+ of the pharmacy.

Ownership

Founded September 2023 by Saim Dalvi and Maryam Mahmud. Both resigned as directors and ceased as PSCs on 2 April 2025, the day AIOS Technology Ltd took 75%+ ownership and Richard Cartwright became sole director. AIOS Technology's own controlling shareholder since December 2024 is Aios Inc, a Delaware corporation in San Francisco: Y Combinator W20, previously known as Fella Health, founded by Richie Cartwright. The Android package name is com.aios.boltpharmacy.

Bolt's site states that AIOS "is independent of Bolt Healthcare Ltd". That is true in the narrow regulatory sense and misleading in the commercial one: AIOS owns the pharmacy, both sit under the same US parent, and Phuong Nguyen is simultaneously Bolt's superintendent pharmacist and AIOS's CQC nominated individual.

Pricing

Mounjaro £169 to £319 one-off by dose, £149 to £299 on subscription. Wegovy £119 to £259 one-off, reordering at £99 to £239, with a £59 first month at the entry dose. Bolt undercuts Juniper at every rung, and by 40% at the Wegovy entry dose, which is where acquisition happens. But Bolt’s ladder rises 101% from bottom to top against Juniper’s 70%. A means-tested “pay-as-you-can” tier exists for benefit claimants.

Funding

Undisclosed. The US parent's funding is not public.

Scale

Correction. This page previously recorded roughly 250 Trustpilot reviews. It is now 5,984 at 4.5, with 566 of them one-star. Whatever else is true, the growth is real. Group revenue claims are self-reported and mutually inconsistent: the Y Combinator profile says “>$100M/yr revenue” and “>50k customers”, while a Bolt recruitment advert says “$400M ARR” and “150k UK active GLP-1 patients”. No filed UK document yet corroborates any of it. AIOS Technology Ltd’s accounts to 31 December 2025 fall due 30 September 2026 and will be the first that can.

Regulatory history

Correction. This page previously said “none found”. There is a great deal. Four separate MHRA advertising interventions, in July 2025 (as Fella Health), December 2025, March 2026 (both brands) and July 2026 (email). Two ASA rulings upheld on 29 July 2026, one for promoting prescription-only medicines through price ads, one for running a Facebook page called “UK Weight Loss Reviews” without disclosing Bolt owned it. In the second, Bolt undertook to show no POM before a clinical consultation is completed; four weeks later /mounjaro is titled “Buy Mounjaro Online UK”.

The US parent is a defendant in litigation brought by both Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. The pharmacy itself has never been inspected by the GPhC, and the CQC registration is unrated.

What this dossier changes

Bolt did not build a pharmacy. A Delaware corporation bought one: a two-person Blackburn company with 2,290 pounds of net assets, acquired in April 2025 on vendor finance that is still outstanding. On 29 July 2026 Bolt told the ASA it would ensure users complete a clinical consultation before any prescription-only medicine is shown. Four weeks later the words “Buy Mounjaro Online UK” are the title tag of a page reachable in one click from the homepage.

Licences

Who actually holds the pharmacy registration, the clinical registration and the prescribers. This is the block that most often contradicts a company's own description of itself.

GPhC (pharmacy register)Bolt Healthcare Ltd9013085Registered. No notices, no conditions, no enforcement history.

Unit 3C Frontier Park, Frontier Avenue, Blackburn BB1 3AL. Superintendent Pharmacist Phuong Nguyen, GPhC 2204151, who holds the Independent Prescriber annotation and has no fitness to practise concerns. A prior registration, 9012918 at Blakewater Road, is now delisted, matching the April 2026 premises move.

GPhC (inspection)Bolt Healthcare Ltd9013085 and 9012918**Never inspected.** Both records read “We have not inspected this pharmacy since we began publishing inspection reports.”

This is a genuine absence, not a research gap. There is no published inspector commentary on the questionnaire model, on risk management or on the website. Compare Juniper, whose 2023 inspection failed three of five principles precisely on “solely relying on an on-line questionnaire model”. Every premises move appears to have reset the clock.

CQC (provider)AIOS Technology LtdProvider 1-24113481942, location 1-25516432019Registered **23 January 2026**. “We have not inspected this service yet.” Not rated.

Registered Manager Dr Christine Johnson. Nominated Individual Ms Phuong Nguyen. Regulated activities: treatment of disease, disorder or injury, plus care for adults over and under 65. The registered location address is the previous Darwen premises, not the current Blackburn one.

PrescribersAIOS Technology LtdPredominantly Pharmacist Independent Prescribers, not doctors.

The group’s own recruitment sets a hard requirement: “GPhC-registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) annotation, held for at least 1 year.” The same advert describes the model as “assisted self-driving” prescribing where “humans are prescribing with AI assisting their workflows”, and as “protocol-led”. One named GMC doctor, Dr Christine Johnson, sits as Medical Lead and CQC Registered Manager.

ICOBolt Healthcare LtdZB678271Registered 7 April 2024, expires 6 April 2027, Tier 1.

Bolt’s privacy policy declares Bolt Healthcare Ltd and AIOS Technology Ltd joint controllers under Article 26 UK GDPR. Aios Inc, the 100% beneficial owner and the group’s engineering base, is not named in the privacy policy at all.

MHRA (medicine seller register)Could not confirmSearch returned no usable result.

As a GPhC-registered pharmacy Bolt would use the GPhC distance selling logo rather than requiring separate MHRA seller registration for POM supply, so absence may not be meaningful either way.

03

Money

The licence was bought, not built, and it was bought on credit

This is the fact that reframes everything else.

Bolt Healthcare Ltd was incorporated on 19 September 2023 by Saim Dalvi, a pharmacist, and Maryam Mahmud. On 2 April 2025 both resigned as directors and ceased as PSCs on the same day, AIOS Technology Ltd took 75%+ ownership, and Richard Cartwright became sole director.

What was acquired, per the filed accounts for the 13 months to 30 October 2024: net assets of £2,290, total assets £491,360, cash £321,950, and one employee. A micro-entity with turnover under £1m.

And the consideration was not paid in full. Companies House charge code 1237 3906 0001, created 2 April 2025 and still outstanding, is a fixed charge over AIOS Technology Ltd, the acquiring company, in favour of Saim Dalvi and Maryam Mahmud personally. That is vendor financing: the sellers took security over the buyer for deferred consideration rather than cashing out.

Both sellers were then retained. Dalvi is now “Pharmacy Lead” on Bolt’s about page and, since 1 December 2025, company secretary of AIOS Technology Ltd, the entity his charge sits over.

So the regulatory foundation under a business claiming nine-figure revenue is thin, seventeen months old, and still partly unpaid for.

Funding is opaque and the revenue claims contradict each other

Y Combinator’s own directory lists AIOS as Winter 2020. The company brands itself everywhere as “YC W20/S21”. The reconciliation is almost certainly that Cartwright went through W20 with FlowX and Fella went through S21, but no primary source confirms S21.

Funding is not publicly established. Crunchbase shows one seed round led by YC. CB Insights says “$130K across 2 rounds”, which is almost certainly a data artefact. A company-supplied job listing names Y Combinator, BrandProject and Global Founders Capital plus angels including founders of Indeed, Curative, Alan and Vouch. GetLatka says bootstrapped. None of it is primary and none of it agrees.

The revenue claims are worse, because both are current-tense and both come from the company:

  • The Y Combinator jobs page says “We’re >$100M/yr revenue”, “cashflow positive since June 2023”, “serving >50k customers”.
  • A Bolt clinical pharmacist advert says “$400M ARR, growing from $10M/yr 12 months ago”, “>150k/mo patients”, “150k UK active GLP-1 patients”.

Those cannot both be true. Treat every figure here as an unverified marketing claim.

No filed UK document yet shows what Bolt actually turns over, and one is about to

Bolt Healthcare’s only filed accounts predate the acquisition entirely. AIOS Technology Ltd’s accounts to 31 December 2024 show net assets of £217,970 and two employees, against a YC profile claiming a team of 100.

Bolt Healthcare’s first post-acquisition accounts, for the year to 31 October 2025, are not due until 30 July 2027.

But AIOS Technology Ltd’s accounts for the year ended 31 December 2025 fall due on 30 September 2026, roughly five weeks from the date of this dossier. That will be the first UK filing capable of testing any of the group’s revenue claims. It is the single cheapest diligence item on this page.

Positioning

The actual words. Paraphrase loses the evidence.

Hero, verbatim
Affordable, clinician-led weight loss care.

Subhead: “Clinician-led weight-loss treatment, built around you. Excellent service at fair, transparent prices.” Affordability is the first word of the first line. That is the whole strategy.

Primary hero CTA
Check Eligibility

But note what the second CTA does: “See all Treatments” sends visitors to the price list, not to the consultation. The commercial priority is legible in the link targets.

Trust proof, above the fold
Trustpilot 4.5 · 5,985 reviews

Bolt leads with review volume rather than regulator marks. There is no GPhC or CQC logo imagery anywhere, only text links in the footer.

The affordability claim
We believe in making treatment accessible at the lowest possible cost, so more people can get the care they deserve.

Reinforced everywhere in metadata as “at-cost”, “cost-price” and “no markups”. There is no published price-match or lowest-price guarantee with terms anywhere on the site.

The superlative that is still live in metadata
Take our 2-minute assessment to get matched with the right GLP-1 medication. Fast, safe, and built around your goals, all at the UK’s lowest prices.

This is the most exposed remaining claim on the site. It sits in the indexable meta description of all fourteen sitemap-listed consultation variants, none of which carry noindex. Price comparison was part of what the ASA ruled on in July 2026. It is invisible to a casual reader and fully visible to a search engine and to a regulator.

The step that makes budget a clinical input
Step 2. Clinician Reviews Your Form. We’ll match you with the right medication based on your health goals and budget.

Budget stated as an explicit input to a prescribing decision, on the homepage. Also note step 1 promises an assessment “In Just 2 Minutes”.

The Wegovy downsell, on the post-quiz plan page
Save up to £1,000 per year. Get the same results for less with Wegovy®. Clinical studies show Wegovy and Mounjaro deliver nearly identical weight loss results. But Wegovy costs significantly less. Why pay more for the same outcome?

A head-to-head comparative claim between two prescription-only medicines, framed purely on price. The page carries noindex but returns HTTP 200 to anyone, so it is reachable without a consultation.

What they conspicuously do not say
No side effects anywhere on the homepage, the plans page or either brand page hero. No contraindications, despite a /resources/who-should-not-take-glp1-medication page existing unlinked. No BMI threshold. No annual cost. No NHS pathway. No mention of the ASA rulings or the MHRA.

The word “risk” appears on the homepage only in a cardiovascular benefit context.

Live production defects
“Based on your details, you may be eligible for Bolt’s cinician-led weight-loss programme.” And, on the plans page: live Lorem ipsum, plus “Board-certified clinicians specialized in women’s health” and “Women’s Health Specialists”.

“Board-certified” is a US credential with no UK meaning, and the women’s-health copy is lifted wholesale from the Delilah sister brand. American spellings persist throughout: “live life in color”, “personalized”.

06

Naming and gating

Prescription-only medicines cannot be advertised to the public anywhere in Europe. So how does this competitor refer to the drug, and what stands between a visitor and the brand name?

Bolt gave the ASA an undertaking. The live site does not honour it.

On 29 July 2026 the ASA upheld two rulings against Bolt Healthcare Ltd. In response Bolt told the ASA it had “updated their marketing practices to align with MHRA guidance” and committed to updating its processes so that users “complete a clinical consultation before any POMs were shown”.

Tested against the live site on 24 August 2026, four weeks later. A prescription-only brand name is reachable by an unauthenticated visitor at every one of these layers:

  • The navigation. The “Weight Loss” nav item goes straight to /weight-loss-plans, and the raw markup of every page carries <a href="/mounjaro">Mounjaro</a> and <a href="/wegovy">Wegovy</a>.
  • The plans page, one click from the homepage, shows photographs of branded Wegovy FlexTouch and Mounjaro KwikPen devices with the labels legible, headed “Wegovy® for Weight Loss” and “Mounjaro® for Weight Loss”, with weekly prices.
  • The title tags. /mounjaro is titled “Buy Mounjaro Online UK | GLP-1 At-Cost Weight Loss Injections”. Neither brand page carries noindex.
  • The structured data. The homepage JSON-LD describes the pharmacy as “providing weight loss treatments including Mounjaro and Wegovy at cost”. That is machine-readable POM promotion served to Google and, because robots.txt allows every AI crawler by name, to LLM training and retrieval too.
  • The guide corpus. 5,776 articles, of which 315 slugs contain “mounjaro”, 265 “ozempic”, 237 “saxenda” and 208 “wegovy”, including can-you-buy-mounjaro-online and can-you-buy-mounjaro-over-the-counter. Two dedicated brand taxonomy hubs exist at /guide-category/mounjaro and /guide-category/wegovy.
  • The guide pages themselves carry an embedded POM price widget: “Mounjaro, Prices from £149.00, Learn more about Mounjaro”.

The only thing actually gated behind the quiz is dose personalisation. There is no interstitial, no age gate, no eligibility wall, no filter page of any kind. If the ASA re-tested today on the same basis as A26-1333536 and A26-1335405, the position looks materially unchanged and in places expanded.

The app store copy proves they know how to do it

Worth noting, because it removes the “we did not realise” defence. Neither Mounjaro nor Wegovy is named in either app store listing. The iOS description reads only “Track your Bolt Pharmacy order, manage your treatment and continue your weight loss journey.”

Apple and Google enforce POM advertising rules at the platform level. The ASA and MHRA do not have that lever. Bolt writes to a compliant standard exactly where a platform makes it compulsory, and to a very different standard everywhere else.

Compare with the two poles of the category

This atlas now has both ends of the range documented.

Juniper Germany will not name the molecule at all until after payment, and cites the Heilmittelwerbegesetz on the page as the reason. Bolt UK puts “Buy Mounjaro Online UK” in a title tag and feeds it to every AI crawler by explicit allow rule.

Juniper UK sits between them and has five upheld ASA rulings for it. Bolt has two, plus four separate MHRA interventions. The pattern across the category is consistent: UK operators treat POM advertising rules as a cost of customer acquisition rather than a constraint on it, and the enforcement, which arrives as an instruction to stop running a specific ad, is priced in.

07

Funnel

Every screen from landing to checkout. Three gates are marked: where price is first revealed, where payment is taken, and where the clinical assessment sits. The order of those three is the commercial model.

  1. 0. Entry

Homepage, or any of 5,776 guide pages, or a /consultation-* paid landing page

Fourteen indexed consultation variants exist (-sb-b, -sb-c, -mj, -nw, -org, -igv and more), all sharing one meta description. That is an A/B estate and a self-inflicted SEO cannibalisation problem at the same time.

  2. 1. The price listprice gate

/weight-loss-plans and /mounjaro and /wegovy: dose selector, plan selector, live price, “Get Started with £169.00”

Price, brand name and efficacy percentage are all shown here, zero clicks from the homepage, with no consultation, no email and no account. This inverts the Juniper model completely, where price is never shown in the shopfront at all.

  3. 2. The quiz

“Take our 2-minute assessment to get matched with the right GLP-1 medication”

captures: Height, weight, prior GLP-1 use and recency

A Savvy embed (cdn.heysavvy.com), flow ID flow_09ea8bcebjjjff58ah76c887aef. The question sequence could not be enumerated: the CDN is unreachable and the flow requires JavaScript. Not guessed.

  4. 3. Your plan

“Clinically proven weight loss, at a price that works for you.” Dose now constrained to starter. Monthly versus 3-month choice. Wegovy downsell runs here.

Also carries the banner “Due to high demand, orders will be processed within 1-2 weeks”, against a homepage promise of delivery “often as soon as the next day”. These pages are publicly fetchable at HTTP 200 without completing anything.

  5. 4. Paymentpayment gate

    Card charged

Email is captured here, at checkout. This is before any clinician has seen the case, before ID, before a BMI photo.

  6. 5. Account creationidentity gate

“Payment completed.” “Finish up in the Bolt Pharmacy App.” “Create your account using the same email.”

Account creation happens after payment, and the checkout email must be re-entered to register. A predictable duplicate-record and support-ticket generator.

  7. 6. Onboardingidentity gate

“Your camera does the paperwork. Photograph your ID and your prescription from your phone easily.” Full-length BMI photo and proof of previous use.

captures: ID, selfie, BMI photos, proof of prior use

Mandatory route is the app. The Android build rates 2.3 stars. During testing the patient portal returned “We’re facing some technical challenges and some of our services are offline.”

  8. 7. Referral upsell

“Give £40, get £40.” “Offer ends in 12D : 19H : 37M.” “Think of one person who’d thank you for this.”

Interposed before onboarding is complete and before clinical review, with a countdown timer.

  9. 8. Clinician reviewclinical gate

Step 3 of Bolt’s own published stepper: Order & Pay → Finish Onboarding → Clinician Review → Medication Approved → Order Processing

The homepage says “Step 2: Clinician Reviews Your Form”, implying review precedes purchase. Bolt’s own /success page shows it does not. Combined with terms clause 8.1.1, no returns or refunds on any medicine, a patient who pays and is then declined is in a position the published terms do not clearly address.

12.5mg£309£289£329

Bolt undercuts Juniper at every rung. But note the shape: Bolt’s ladder rises 101% from bottom to top (£149 to £299) against Juniper’s 70% (£199 to £339). Bolt is cheaper everywhere and steeper. The attack surface is the anchor, not the ladder. A second list ladder is live simultaneously on /personalised-context-pricing showing 5mg at £189 rather than £199, and so on down the range.

Wegovy (semaglutide), per month

2.4mg£199£139£179£229

This is where the real gap is. At the entry dose Bolt reorders at £99 against Juniper’s £164, a 40% discount, and the first month is £59. Acquisition happens at the entry dose, so the Wegovy downsell on the plan page is commercially rational rather than clinical: Wegovy is where Bolt’s price advantage is largest. Note also the 7.2mg tier, above the licensed 2.4mg Wegovy maintenance dose.

Refunds on medicineNone. Clause 8.1.1: “For safety reasons, we do not accept returns of medical products, including prescription or non-prescription medicine.” The 14-day Consumer Contracts right applies only to non-prescription items.
“Cancel Anytime / No commitment”Displayed on the same page as a plan carrying an explicit 3-month minimum term.
Dose escalationNot warned about on the homepage. “From £29.75/week” anchors on the starter dose; the escalation is disclosed only in small print on the plan pages: “thereafter, your dose and price will increase depending on your treatment plan.”
Pay-as-you-canA genuine means-tested discount scheme for benefit claimants, with its own terms page. Unusual in this category and, on the face of it, creditable.
Referral“Refer friends, get up to £80.” Sections 9 and 10 of the referral terms are devoted to tracking failures, which implies a volume of disputes.
09

Surface

Domains from certificate transparency, not guesswork. Staged markets and internal tooling show up here first.

robots.txt invites every AI crawler by name

The file has exactly one disallow, /success, which is nonetheless publicly fetchable and returns HTTP 200. Everything else is an explicit allow, and the allow list is enumerated crawler by crawler:

GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-Web, anthropic-ai, Google-Extended, PerplexityBot, Bytespider, Applebot-Extended, cohere-ai, Amazonbot, Meta-ExternalAgent, YouBot, CCBot.

This is not an oversight. Naming fourteen AI user agents individually and allowing each is a deliberate AI-visibility strategy. The consequence is that pages titled “Buy Mounjaro Online UK”, and JSON-LD describing the pharmacy as supplying “Mounjaro and Wegovy at cost”, are being served into LLM training and retrieval by design. Juniper’s robots.txt blocks nothing either, but Juniper does not enumerate. Bolt went looking.

The influencer subdomain estate, and a POM brand name in a hostname

Certificate transparency returns 99 unique DNS names for boltpharmacy.co.uk. Ninety-three of them are per-creator subdomains: 47 `<handle>.affiliates.boltpharmacy.co.uk` and 46 `<handle>.crew.boltpharmacy.co.uk`.

Sample handles, verbatim from the certificates: mandoesmounjaro, slowlyshrinkingsoph, adhdweightlossmama, hollymaykay, kayleighlinnett, alfieandmummysteph, bonnieluellasmama, thethreemouseketeersuk.

`mandoesmounjaro.affiliates.boltpharmacy.co.uk` puts a prescription-only medicine brand name inside a hostname that Bolt controls and for which Bolt has obtained a TLS certificate. It currently serves a link-in-bio stub with noindex, but the certificate is public and permanent.

The creator programme runs on a Next.js dashboard at crew.boltpharmacy.co.uk (“Bolt Creator Dashboard”) hosted on Vercel. Set against ASA ruling A26-1335405, which upheld a breach for running a Facebook page called “UK Weight Loss Reviews” without disclosing Bolt owned it, an undisclosed-affiliation risk running at this scale is the most under-appreciated exposure in the whole file.

The programmatic competitor-pricing play, targeting 54 named rivals

5,776 guide articles, of which 135 slugs contain “cost”. The pattern that matters is a matrix: 54 `<competitor>-mounjaro-cost` pages and 59 `<competitor>-wegovy-cost` pages.

Named targets include juniper, zava, voy, numan-adjacent brands, medexpress, oushk, simple-online-pharmacy, phlo-clinic, second-nature, pharmacy2u, lloyds-pharmacy, boots, asda, well-pharmacy, and, pointedly, `lillydirect`, the manufacturer’s own direct channel.

These are not thin pages. /guide/juniper-cost-mounjaro is an 11-minute read, published 18 November 2025 and last updated 23 August 2026, so the corpus is actively refreshed. It carries a Trustpilot badge, a POM price widget, a table of contents, scientific references, and a dated provenance citation: “Juniper’s Mounjaro service typically costs £199 to £339 (price-comparison listing, checked 21 August 2026)”. That dated “checked” note is a defensive move and it is well executed.

Bolt has also built more Ozempic content (265 slugs) than Wegovy content (208), despite not selling Ozempic. That is pure interception traffic.

Adjacent categories seeded but not sold: erectile-dysfunction, hair-loss, testosterone. That is either a roadmap or content ported from the US Fella playbook, and probably both.

Bolt is a UK skin on the US Fella Health platform

The most strategically important stack finding. Bolt’s front-end JavaScript is served from `js.joinfella.com`, the Fella Health domain, with a testing fallback to js.fellatesting.com and telemetry to t.fellahealth.com. The RudderStack dataplane is literally named `joinfelladnoqz`. The backend is `uk.api.aiosmedical.com`, alongside us.api.aiosmedical.com.

The code is conditionally branched by hostname, so the same bundles serve consent management, CTA tracking and PostHog experimentation to both markets.

That single fact explains everything odd about the UK site: the un-localised “board-certified women’s health specialists” copy lifted from Delilah, the live Lorem ipsum, the American spellings, the stale app.joindelilah.com link in the UK homepage markup, and a San Francisco phone number, (415) 649-5531, live on a UK pharmacy homepage under “Talk to Someone”.

It also creates a real question: UK patient consent and event data flows through a US-branded pipeline. The privacy policy does not name Aios Inc.

Rest of the stack: Webflow behind Cloudflare, Stripe, GA4, GTM, PostHog for product analytics and feature flags, Omniconvert for CRO, Converge and Hyros for ad attribution, CustomerLabs, a custom consent bundle rather than OneTrust or Cookiebot, and WhatsApp Business as the only support channel. No Intercom, no Zendesk. polyfill-fastly.io is present, a successor host to the compromised polyfill.io, which is a supply-chain hygiene issue on a pharmacy site.

Reputation

Read the one-star reviews properly. They describe the operational model from the outside.

Trustpilot 4.5 on 5,984 reviews, with a one-star spike 8.4x the two-star count

Read from Trustpilot’s own JSON on 24 August 2026, using the businessUnitId embedded in Bolt’s pages.

| Stars | Count | Share | |---|---|---| | 5 | 5,000 | 83.6% | | 4 | 282 | 4.7% | | 3 | 69 | 1.2% | | 2 | 67 | 1.1% | | 1 | 566 | 9.5% |

A healthy organic distribution decays smoothly from five stars down. This one has 566 one-star reviews against just 67 two-star, a spike of 8.4x where there should be a decay. That shape is characteristic of heavy review solicitation on satisfied customers inflating the top, while a distinct and unaddressed operational failure sends a hard core straight to the bottom. Roughly one reviewer in every ten and a half rates Bolt the lowest possible score.

Separately, /wegovy displays a hardcoded “Trustpilot 4.8/5” badge. The live score is 4.5. That is a straightforward substantiation problem on a product page.

This atlas previously recorded Bolt at “around 250 reviews”. It is now 5,984. Whatever else is true, the growth is real.

The Android app is rated 2.3, and it is the mandatory route for ID upload

iOS: 4.5 from 924 ratings, published by Aios Inc., last updated 28 July 2026, age rating 18+.

Android: 2.3 from 57 reviews, package com.aios.boltpharmacy, 10,000+ downloads, last updated 8 July 2026, content rating “Rated for 3+”.

Two things follow. 10,000+ Android installs generating only 57 ratings against 924 on iOS suggests iOS ratings are actively solicited and Android is not. And a 2.3 on the app a patient must use to photograph their ID and take full-length BMI photos after they have already been charged is a real service failure, on the platform with the larger UK install base.

The 3+ content rating on an app that gates access to prescription-only medicines is its own small oddity.

Where the one-star reviews almost certainly come from

The review text could not be read: Trustpilot returns 403 to automated clients. Rather than characterise 566 reviews from inference, here is the verified adjacent evidence, which points clearly at operations rather than clinical care.

  • The plan page carries a live banner: “Due to high demand, orders will be processed within 1-2 weeks”, against a homepage promise of delivery “often as soon as the next day”. A 14x gap between promise and disclosure.
  • The patient portal returned “We’re facing some technical challenges and some of our services are offline” during testing.
  • No refunds on any medicine, combined with payment taken before clinician review.
  • The patient must re-create an account using the same email used at checkout.
  • The referral terms devote two sections to tracking failures.

Bolt also operates an owned subreddit, r/BoltUK, linked from the homepage footer. It should not be read as independent sentiment.

Rulings, investigations and open matters, dated. Then: what is still live on the site that the ruling was about.

2025-04-23US District Court, N.D. Cal.Live litigation

Eli Lilly and Company v. Aios Inc d/b/a Fella Health and Delilah, case 3:25-cv-03535, with Fella Medical Group P.A. and P.C. as co-defendants. Lanham Act plus California unfair competition, false advertising, corporate practice of medicine and civil conspiracy.

From the complaint: “Non-physician Richie Cartwright... is also the CEO of Fella Medical Group P.A. and exercises control over Fella Medical Group P.C.” and “Fella changed patients’ prescriptions en masse based on Fella’s financial interests, not individualized patient needs.”

Lilly alleges Fella switched patients’ formulations en masse in November 2024 and April 2025, adding glycine or l-arginine to tirzepatide without advance notice or physician consultation, that non-physician staff gave dosing and side-effect advice via Reddit and text, and that Fella marketed oral tirzepatide as “best-in-class weight loss” while its own employees described it as “fairly ineffective”.

Motion to dismiss was under submission as of 1 October 2025. No ruling retrieved.

First of four. Named as Bolt Healthcare Ltd t/a Fella Health. The company “amended their advertising following MHRA action on complaints to ensure that Prescription-Only Medicines for weight loss are not promoted to the public”.

2025-12MHRAAdvertising amended

Second intervention, this time named as Bolt Healthcare Ltd t/a Bolt Pharmacy.

2026-01-23CQCRegistered, never inspected

AIOS Technology Ltd granted registration as provider 1-24113481942. Roughly nine months after the UK service began operating under Aios ownership, and six months after the MHRA was already dealing with complaints against the group.

There is a defensible reading in which no CQC registration was required earlier, because prescribing by pharmacist independent prescribers within a registered pharmacy is exempt in England. But registering a doctor as registered manager suggests the model changed, and the gap is a fair question to put to them.

Fourth intervention, and the most telling. This one concerns email, not advertising. The problem migrated channels after the March fix rather than being resolved.

2026-07-29ASAUpheld

A26-1333536. Two paid Facebook ads: pharmacy packaging with pound coins, “Price drop alert. We’ve cut the cost of our weight loss solution... Bolt Pharmacy offers the lowest UK prices on prescription treatments”, and “SYSTEM CRASHED PRICING ERROR. Our system is still showing LAST YEAR’S WEIGHT LOSS PRICES.”

No POM was named in the ads themselves. The ASA held that “prescription treatments” plus landing pages comparing Wegovy and Mounjaro with branded pen imagery amounted to POM promotion, finding that “consumers who had clicked through to the landing pages were actively presented with POMs”. Breach of CAP rule 12.12.

source

2026-07-29ASAUpheld on two counts

A26-1335405. Two paid Facebook ads run from a page called “UK Weight Loss Reviews”, which Bolt operated without disclosing that it owned it.

Rule 2.3, recognition of marketing communications: the page name implied an independent review site while promoting Bolt’s pricing. Bolt accepted the commercial relationship “was not sufficiently transparent”. Rule 12.12: the same POM problem, with the MHRA recorded as expressing concern that the ads “were likely to lead to the use of a POM”.

Bolt’s response is the load-bearing part. It said it had “updated their marketing practices to align with MHRA guidance” and would update its processes so that users “complete a clinical consultation before any POMs were shown”. Section 06 of this dossier tests that undertaking.

Verified by direct capture on the date of this dossier. /mounjaro is titled “Buy Mounjaro Online UK” and publishes a full six-dose price ladder with a “Get Started with £169.00” button, before any consultation. /weight-loss-plans is one click from the homepage and shows photographs of branded Wegovy and Mounjaro pens with the labels legible. The “UK’s lowest prices” superlative remains live in the indexable meta description of fourteen landing pages. See the visual evidence section.

Novo Nordisk A/S et al v. AIOS INC d/b/a Fella Health and Delilah is confirmed to exist on PacerMonitor and Law.com Radar. Case number, court, filing date and status could not be retrieved. A separate private action, Brenneise v. Aios Inc, is likewise confirmed to exist and nothing more.

So the US parent faces suits from both manufacturers whose products the UK arm resells.

Read-across

What a new entrant should copy, and what it should avoid.

Copy this

  • Buying a small registered pharmacy is a legitimate and fast route to a UK licence. Bolt went from a Delaware corporation with no UK dispensing capability to a live GPhC-registered operation by acquiring a two-person company for deferred consideration, and it took effect on a single day.
  • A means-tested tier is genuinely differentiating. The “pay-as-you-can” scheme for benefit claimants is unusual in this category, is defensible on its own terms, and doubles as a re-capture route for price-sensitive drop-offs.
  • Programmatic competitor-cost pages work, if you do them properly. 54 named-rival pricing guides, long-form, with real safety content, scientific references and a dated “checked on” provenance note next to every competitor price. The dated citation is the part most people skip and it is the part that makes the page defensible.
  • Build content for the drug you do not sell. 265 Ozempic slugs against 208 Wegovy, on a site that does not stock Ozempic. Pure interception.
  • Publishing the full price ladder up front is a real strategic choice, not laziness. Juniper hides price until checkout and Bolt leads with it. Both work; they select for different customers.

Avoid this

  • Giving a regulator an undertaking you have not implemented. Bolt told the ASA on 29 July 2026 that POMs would be shown only after a clinical consultation. Four weeks later “Buy Mounjaro Online UK” is a title tag. That is now a documented, dated, checkable gap, and the next complaint writes itself.
  • Leaving a superlative in metadata. “All at the UK’s lowest prices” sits in the indexable meta description of fourteen landing pages with no price-match terms published anywhere. Invisible to a reader, fully visible to the ASA.
  • Putting a POM brand name in a hostname you control. mandoesmounjaro.affiliates.boltpharmacy.co.uk is in a public certificate transparency log permanently, and it exists on the same site that has already been ruled against for an undisclosed “UK Weight Loss Reviews” page.
  • Running a 93-subdomain influencer programme without visible disclosure architecture, when your last ASA ruling was about undisclosed commercial relationships.
  • Shipping your US market’s copy to a UK pharmacy. Live Lorem ipsum, “board-certified women’s health specialists”, and a San Francisco phone number on a UK pharmacy homepage.
  • Taking payment before clinician review while operating a no-refunds-on-medicine policy. The published terms do not clearly address what happens to a patient who pays and is then declined.
  • Letting the Android app sit at 2.3 stars when it is the mandatory route for post-payment ID and BMI photo upload.

  • What do AIOS Technology Ltd’s accounts for the year to 31 December 2025 show? They are due 30 September 2026 and will be the first UK filing capable of testing the group’s revenue claims. Cheapest diligence item here by a distance.
  • How was the Eli Lilly motion to dismiss decided? It was under submission on 1 October 2025 and no ruling could be retrieved.
  • What are the Novo Nordisk and Brenneise cases? Existence confirmed, everything else blocked.
  • Did Fella Health receive one of the 30 FDA warning letters issued to telehealth companies on 3 March 2026 over compounded GLP-1 claims? The recipients are not named in the announcement and Fella still runs a compounded pathway.
  • Which clinicians prescribed between April 2025, when the UK service began, and 23 January 2026, when the CQC registration was granted?
  • When will the GPhC first inspect pharmacy 9013085? It has never been inspected, and the comparable Juniper inspection failed three of five principles on the questionnaire model.
  • What does the Savvy quiz actually ask? The flow requires JavaScript and the CDN was unreachable. Specifically: does it screen for disordered eating?
  • What do the 566 one-star Trustpilot reviews say? Trustpilot returns 403 to automated clients and this was not characterised from inference.
  • Is Dr Christine Johnson’s GMC registration 2856069 as stated? The number comes from Bolt’s own about page and the GMC register could not be reached.
